The Gold Guide
It is the only compilation of city and state rankings in the country. The guide also offers its own "Best of the Best" rankings and many additional features.
The Gold Guide is organized into eleven topical chapters (or ranking categories) covering all major dimensions of society, from the economy to public safety.
Researchers reviewed over 16,000 sources, selecting rankings whose methodologies were sufficiently rigorous. A consensus technique was then applied to the compiled ratings to produce the Gold Guide’s “Best of the Best” rankings.
Early reviews of the Gold Guide have praised its quality and value. U.S. News & World Report calls it "richly researched." The Washington Post says it's refreshingly "nonpartisan." The Denver Post hails it as the "mother of all rankings."
