Publication and dissemination of state and local public
policy research are essential aspects of NPRC’s
mission. NPRC Press publishes books that result from
NPRC’s own research, as well as books with a state
and local policy focus written by outside authors. NPRC
Press also distributes books published by other organizations.
RETURN POLICY
A publication may be returned within fifteen days of
purchase, if in its original condition. To receive full
credit, the return package must contain a copy of the

price, and discount (if applicable). No credit will
be given for books returned in unsaleable condition.
Postage is paid by the customer.
EXAMINATION COPIES
If a book is being considered for course use, please
request an examination copy in writing on letterhead.
Please limit your request to two titles. Requests for

When a book is ordered for a class, NPRC Press will
provide the professor with one desk copy. If requested
by the professor or by the university bookstore, NPRC
Press will provide an additional desk copy (for teaching
assistants, etc.) for every additional twenty-five books
ordered or for every additional twenty-five students
enrolled in a course.
MANUSCRIPT ACQUISITION
NPRC Press publishes books written by authors who are
not otherwise affiliated with NPRC. These manuscripts
should be innovative studies of important public policy
issues confronting state and local areas. They should
be written for a wide audience. Manuscripts accepted
for consideration are subject to NPRC’s peer review
procedures.
Authors wishing to present a proposal should forward
to NPRC Press a brief prospectus, including a description
of the work and its intended audience, table of contents,
introduction or sample chapter, expected length, projected
schedule for completion of the manuscript, and a curriculum
vitae. Complete manuscripts should not be sent unless
invited and will not be returned. Please note: NPRC
Press only considers books with a state and local policy
focus. It does not consider unrevised doctoral dissertations.
